Welcome to Alameda County Independent Living Skills Program

A program supporting youth transitioning from the foster care or juvenile justice system to independent living.

This site provides information for current, former, and prospective ILSP students, child welfare workers, probation officers, foster parents and other caregivers, advocates, and supporters of youth in foster care or on probation.

 
Program Highlights .....
Spring 2010 Book Money Applicants Are Encouraged to Apply by January 14th. Late Applicants Will Be Considered Up to 30 Days After Classes Begin.

ILSP Will Pay for Your College Textbooks

If you were in the foster care or juvenile probation system in Alameda County, you may be eligible for financial assistance to buy your textbooks.

The term "Book Money" covers 3 different programs:

1) Textbook & Uniform Reimbursement
2) Textbook Stipends to College Bookstore of Choice
3) Textbook Grants to Students

* Some applications require more items to be considered complete.
